*** Round-up***

The past two weeks have been busy for our Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) here at Melbourne.

Here are some of the things we have done during our duties:

Engagement with our local schools continue. Parking banners which have been kindly funded by the Communities Team at South Derbyshire District Council have been installed at Melbourne Infants and Junior School, Chellaston Fields Spencer Academy and Shardlow Primary School. Parents/ Carers continue to be advised:

* Think about where they park as to not cause obstructions or park in a manner which may endanger pedestrians or other road users.
* To consider parking further away from school at pick up/drop off time and walk.
* Do not stop or park near a school entrance, zig zags lines or on keep clears, find a safe location to park.
* Do not block the pavement(s) or driveways.

Officers have visited a number of vulnerable residents across our communities and provided both reassurance and crime prevention advice. Referrals have been made to Safer Homes South Derbyshire to help improve security and provide further free crime prevention advice.

Officers have carried out CCTV enquiries for incidents in our communities.

Officers have dealt with a range of neighbour disputes in our communities, which have involved partnership working with a number of different housing providers.

Officers have liased with Environmental Health and the Neighbourhood Wardens at South Derbyshire District Council following further fly tipping on Moor Lane at Barrow on Trent.

Officer Robbins has attended a refresher course on Officer Safety. This course enables her to continue to keep herself, colleagues and members of the public safe whilst out on patrols.

Derbyshire Police and South Derbyshire District Council have been working in partnership to jointly fund a number of E-Bikes to assist officers on SNT. A big thank you goes out to Chris Smith, Communities Manager for his help and support with the project. Expect to see SNT officers out and about on these soon!

Officers have been out conducting speed checks across our communities. These checks continue to be carried out during our patrols.

Officers have carried out both foot patrols and high visibility patrols in our communities, including the areas of Melbourne, Stanton by Bridge, Swarkestone, Barrow upon Trent, Riber Drive Chellaston, Weston on Trent, Aston on Trent, Shardlow, Elvaston, Ambaston, Thulston and Boulton Moor.

Have a lovely weekend- Stay safe
