Glossop YET [Youth Engagement Team] - #consequences PCSO's Buller & Walsh attended Dinting C Of E Primary School, Dinting Vale, Glossop - This morning, Wednesday 22nd June. The team were there to complete a consequence input/lesson with the year 6 class [10 and 11 year olds] at the school. The aims and objectives of our visit today were to make the students aware that the age of criminal responsibility for young people begins at age 10. Also 'What is a crime' and the different types of crimes including punishments and sentences etc. We discussed the direct and indirect impacts of crime "The Ripple Effect" and how it effects victims, perpetrators, family, and the community. We discussed the specific consequences regarding knife crime.. The class were then made aware of how to report crime 100% anonymously using sites such as Fearless.org - or by 101 or 999. We included how they could and should report and tell trusted adults, such as teachers, parents, mentors or the police about crime. Glossop YET would like to thank the staff from Dinting School for accommodating the visit and input - and a big thankyou to the pupils who took part in the lesson today. | ||||
