TRAVEL ADVICE - DRIVE CAREFULLY

With increased rainfall in recent days, river and stream levels remain high.

If you are driving a car to a destination in the coming days, please reflect on some of the following helpful hints:

- Check the weather forecast and any road closures before travelling

- Fully clear your windows and mirrors before leaving

- Keep a greater distance between yourself and the vehicle in front

- Allow extra time to complete your journey

- Keep your mobile fully charged in case of emergencies

- Be aware of, and anticipate, that the condition of the roads will be different to normal

- Pack warm clothes, snacks, and drinks just in case you're stuck

- Drive to the road conditions and stay safe.
