πŸ”ͺ OpSceptre - 13th - 19th May 2024πŸ”ͺ

Hello All

Excuses given for carrying a knife...

There are no excuses for carrying a knife, and self-defence/for your own safety is not a legal defence.

These are just a few that are heard. Have you heard friends or family say any of these...

πŸ”ͺ It makes me feel safer.
πŸ”ͺ Other people do it so why not?
πŸ”ͺ My mate told me to carry one, so I did.
πŸ”ͺ Even if I use it, it’s not like I’m going to kill someone.
πŸ”ͺ People know I carry, so they aren’t going to start anything.
πŸ”ͺ It’s for self-defence.

If you know or think someone is carrying a knife, then please speak to someone and let us know, using any of the following methods:
πŸ’» Website – https://orlo/uk/seDCz
πŸ’» Facebook – Send us a private message to the Derbyshire Constabulary page.
πŸ’» X (twitter) – Direct message via @DerPolContact.
πŸ“± Phone – 999 (emergency) or 101 (non-emergency).
