Knives shatter Lives - Knife crime intensity week!

From the 13th through to the 19th of May across the county PCSOs and PCs will be intensifying their engagements in relation to knife crime which includes the following -

  • Going into school to offer inputs making our younger in society aware of the dangers of knives, carrying knives and associating with those who carry knives and the consequences.
  • Offering knife amnesty bins to allow everyone the opportunity to pop by and dump any unused knives before they get into the wrong hands which could result in potentially a life lost.
  • Engaging with businesses to make them aware of potential proxy sales and making sure challenge 25 is enforced.
  • Increasing stop searches around hotspot areas where we have intelligence of those people or areas where knives are known.
  • Knife sweeps - We will be also doing knife sweeps across the areas to find discarded knives.
  • If you have any information on someone carrying a knife you could report anonymously on crime stoppers or call 101 to report this, if someone is in immediate danger, please call 999 immediately.
