Op Sceptre- Knife sweeps

Resident

Today, as part of the national Operation Sceptre week of intensification on knife crime, PCSO Furmidge and PC Kendellen from Eckington SNT team have been out and about in the Eckington and Ridgeway area conducting knife a sweeps. Whilst we know it is the minority of people who think it is acceptable to carry a knife, it can have devastating consequences when they do. This work means that we can check for any discarded knives or weapons and safely dispose of them, keeping them from getting into the wrong hands.
