PCSO Presence

PCSO Radcliffe has spent a lot of time this week engaging with schools and a few parents have been asking why there is a presence outside schools at the start and end of the school day.

This is nothing to worry about. The Safer Neighbourhood Team want your local PCSOs to be a familiar face to your children / young people. By doing this, if your child is ever feeling frightened or in need of some support when they are not with you, they may feel able to talk to a familiar PCSO / Police Officer in the future. This will help safeguard your child as they become more independent.

Your Safer Neighbourhood team have already seen a difference this week with children from Bakewell Infants school and young people from Lady Manners engaging with PCSOs and stopping for a chat whilst they are out and about on foot patrols.

Likewise the PCSOs are also available for parents requiring any advice or support during school drop-offs and pick-ups.

If you are involved with any community groups or holding an event and would like some input from your Local Safer Neighbourhood Team on Crime Prevention or Keeping Safe, send us a message and your local PCSO will get in touch
