Community Alert: Recent Burglaries

Community Alert: Recent Burglaries in Ashbourne Town and Brailsford village.

We want to make residents of Ashbourne and surrounding villages, including Brailsford, aware of a recent increase in burglaries in the area. Your safety and security are our priority, and we encourage to take extra precautions to protect their homes and property.

Home Security Tips:

1. Lock Up- Always lock doors and windows, even if you're just stepping out briefly.

2. Lights On- Use timers or smart bulbs to keep your home well-lit, especially during the evenings.

3. Secure Entry Points- Consider upgrading locks, installing doorbell cameras, and reinforcing weak entry points.

4. Neighbourhood Watch- Report any suspicious activity and keep an eye out for your Neighbours.

5. Out of Sight- Keep valuables out of view from windows and avoid leaving tools or ladders in your garden.

6. Alarms and CCTV- Alarms and CCTV- If possible, invest in security systems. Displaying alarm and CCTV signs can be a deterrent.

7. Be Discreet on Social Media- Avoid advertising when you're away from home.

If You See Anything Suspicious:

Call 101 for non-emergencies or to report suspicious activity.

Call 999 if you witness a crime in progress.

By working together, we can help keep Ashbourne and surrounding villages safe, Please share this message with family, friends and neighbours.
