Appropriate and Safe parking

👮APPROPRIATE AND SAFE PARKING👮

It has been brought to our attention the issues regarding parking during the hours when parents or guardians collect their children from school. Officers of Shirebrook SNT have attended both St Joseph's Catholic Primary School and Langwith Bassett Primary School  to deal with reports and sightings of dangerous and inappropriate parking. We at Shirebrook SNT wish to remind you of the importance of parking vehicles sensibly, with consideration to residents and the safety of other road users and pedestrians.

We ask when parking your vehicle you make sure you are not obstructing driveways of local residents, causing obstruction to other vehicles and parking inconsiderately as this can cause collisions, can put pedestrians in danger and can obstruct emergency service vehicles.

You MUST NOT wait or park on yellow lines during the times of operation shown on nearby time plates, or zone entry signs if in a Controlled Parking Zone. Double yellow lines indicate a prohibition of waiting at any time even if there are no upright signs. You MUST NOT wait or park, or stop to set down and pick up passengers, on school entrance markings or roundabouts when upright signs indicate a prohibition of stopping.

To summarise and further reiterate, please do not:
•    Block the pavement or road.
•    Park on the bend of a junction.
•    Park on a roundabout.
•    Park on yellow lines during hours of operation.
•    Block residents’ driveways.
