SNT Updates

Good afternoon,

We've recently seen a spate of vehicle interference incidents called into us in Oakwood and the surrounding areas. Officers are conducting house to house and CCTV enquiries to try and identify those responsible. We thought this would be a good opportunity to offer crime prevention advice on what you can do to ensure your vehicles and the belongings inside of it are kept secure.

- Keep your vehicles locked at all times.
- Keep your keys safe.
- Be aware of carjackers.
- Park responsibly.
- Watch for illegal tow trucks.
- Fit good in-car security locks.
- Double-check electronic locking.
- Before owning, check for cloning.
- Secure your port.

Further information can be found on the following link, and we strongly advise you read this and take action now: https://www.met.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/keeping-vehicles-safe/preventing-car-vehicle-theft/

In other news, officers attended a busy car meet on Stores Road which takes place on Sunday's. We regularly attend this to ensure that speed and anti-social behaviour whilst at the wheel are kept to a minimum. Two Section 59 warnings were given due to excessive speed, and driving in a manner to cause alarm and distress.

We will be providing regular updates on what the team have been up to, and offer the relevant crime prevention advice on what residents have fallen victim from in our wards.

Thank you,

Chaddesden, Oakwood and Spondon Police SNT.
