Community Speed Watch Event held on Marple Rd, Charlesworth (A626) on Tuesday 29th April

Glossop SNT - Community Speed Watch Event

The Hadfield Community Speed Watch Volunteers completed an event on the A626 Marple Rd  Charlesworth. It was held there between 4 pm and 5 pm today, Tuesday 29th April.

A total of  642 vehicles were recorded driving by the team today - and on this occasion 10 of those were recorded speeding above 35 mph. The speed limit on this stretch of road  is 30 mph.

What is Community Speed Watch ?

Volunteers from local communities work alongside Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNTs) to monitor speeding traffic in their areas.

The aim of Community Speed Watch is to monitor and record the speed and registration number of speeding vehicles travelling through communities in an attempt to improve driver behaviour, by encouraging drivers to slow down and thereby preventing collisions. The activity allows us to send letters of advice to the registered keeper of vehicles warning them of the driver's behaviour and dissatisfaction of the community through which the vehicle travelled.

Interested - How do I sign up?

To join please contact your local SNT or contact the Community Speed Watch team by email to AdminCSW@Derbyshire.Police.UK

*Well done to the 2 volunteers who completed the event today.
