KNIFE SWEEPS
This week, as part of the national Operation Sceptre week of intensification on knife crime, the team have been out and about in the local area conducting knife sweeps at Aston, Elvaston and Melbourne.
Whilst we know it is the minority of people who think it is acceptable to carry a knife, it can have devastating consequences when they do.
This work means that we can check for any discarded knives or weapons and safely dispose of them, keeping them from getting into the wrong hands.
