Safety Advice - Use Your Bike Lights! |
||
🚴‍♂️ Cycle Safety Reminder: Use Your LightsAs the darker evenings continue, we’re asking all cyclists in Derbyshire to help keep themselves — and others — safe by ensuring their bikes are fitted with working front and rear lights. Using lights isn’t just good practice; it’s a legal requirement when riding after sunset. More importantly, it makes you far more visible to drivers, pedestrians, and other road users. Please remember: Whether you’re riding to work, school, or for leisure, your lights can prevent a serious collision. Let’s work together to keep Derbyshire’s roads safe for everyone.
We have had concerns raised by local residents that there are several young people not adhering to this rule in the Middlecroft/Inkersall area. If you know of anyone who rides a bike without lights, please pass this advice on and ask them to call into Staveley Police Station (or any of our local events, PCSO Brown will be at Brimington Community Centre at 2pm & Poolsbrook Country Park Cafe at 3.30pm today) for some FREE bike lights. #Stay bright. #Stay safe.
