🔥 A hot start to the Bank Holiday weekend for your local officers! 🔥 You may have noticed an increased Police presence in Whaley Thorns on Friday… and here’s why 👀 Acting on information from local residents, officers uncovered a cannabis grow containing nearly 🌱 100 plants 🌱 — just days before harvest. Safe to say… we’ve saved someone the gardening job ✂️😅 While some may see cannabis grows as “just plants”, the reality is very different. These properties often pose serious dangers to neighbouring homes and the wider community, including: ⚠️ Significant fire risks from dangerous electrical bypasses and overloaded wiring ⚠️ Organised criminal activity linked to drug production ⚠️ Unsafe living conditions and property damage ⚠️ Anti-social behaviour impacting local residents This result wouldn’t have happened without information from the community, so a huge THANK YOU to everyone who reported concerns — and an even bigger thank you to the kind residents who kept officers fuelled throughout the day with biscuits and sweets 🍪🍬 (community policing at its finest!)
