Drakelow Woodland targeted by Arsonists

Good morning folks,

Just to make responsible parents aware that teenagers, approximately six males, have been seen trying to start fires around the River Trent on the edges of Dracan Village, in the woods. 

This occurred approximately around the 4pm time yesterday afternoon.

If your children have returned home smelling of smoke, I suggest you question them and remind them that this behaviour is extremely dangerous and discuss the outcome, that not only all the trees could burn down but also children becoming badly injured.

Also check your children's belongings/bedrooms, because how are they setting fires in the first place?

Matches or lighters hidden in unexpected places.

The precise area that this fire setting has occurred, which is not the first time recently, is What3Words - YARD.ARCH.BUCKED.

The Fire Service were called out to dampen off the area.

Arson with intent to endanger life(or being reckless as to whether life is endangered) is an aggravated offence under Section 1(2) of the Criminal Damage Act 1971. It is a highly serious offence.

Please get in touch if you have good evidence as to which reckless youths/children are responsible.
