Seized - Electric Scooter

Hello All

During patrols by Safer Neighbourhood Team officers yesterday in Wirksworth.

This E-Scooter (see below) was seized from a rider who had no insurance and further checks showed that the rider had an expired driving licence.

The rider was reported for the offences.

We are reiterating the message to all Derbyshire Dales residents about the use of E-Scooters, but unfortunately, we're still seeing people spending a lot of money on them and then using them illegally on public roads and pavements.

Just to be clear:
* They aren't road legal
* They aren't insured
* They don't have MOT or registration
* And using them on public roads or footpaths is against the law.

Unless you're riding on private land with the landowner's permission, you risk having the scooter seized and ultimately destroyed.

We really don't want people wasting their hard-earned money. Please help us spread the word and think twice before buying or riding one.
