How to stay safe ๐น Stick to designated swimming areas and follow local safety signage ๐น Never swim alone โ always go with someone who can raise the alarm ๐น Supervise children closely โ stay within armโs reach around water ๐น Avoid alcohol when in or near water โ it significantly increases risk ๐น Wear a life jacket or buoyancy aid if you're paddleboarding, kayaking or boating ๐น Be aware of changing weather conditions and water levels ๐จ In an emergency ๐น Call 999 or 112 and ask for Fire & Rescue ๐น Do not enter the water to rescue someone โ this can put you at risk too ๐น Encourage the person to FLOAT TO LIVE: Tilt their head back with ears submergedRelax and try to control breathingUse arms and legs to stay afloatWe want everyone to enjoy the outdoors safely this summer! Please take a moment to think before you enter the waterโit could save your life. |
