Glossop SNT - Glossop Borough Police Historical Photo - Update 

You may remember our recent post regarding the Glossop Borough Police Force 1866 to 1947 - and the picture shown below (circa 1900) and our request for help in identifying the officers pictured.

A big thankyou and our appreciation and admiration go to Chris Coggrave from Glossop Family History Group - GLossop Library, who has kindly provided the names and other info relating to the Force around that time. We hope you found this an interesting part of our towns unique history - and of course thanks to all those kind people who also gave info and provided alternative pictures - colourised and in better condition, than the one we used (see below).

The Glossop Family History Group hold monthly meetings on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 4.30 pm. in Glossop Library, Talbot St, Glossop SK13 7DG.

The group can provide free one-to-one help sessions throughout the week at the library.

We've also added a re-creation of the same/similar scene taken in 1998 - of the Derbyshire Constabulary Police Officers and staff working at Glossop Police Station, at that time, almost 100 years apart as a comparison.
